Today’s subject was LOVE. This photo doesn’t need much explanation: this is my wife, Ami, and my son, Matthew, who I love more than anything (the both of ’em). If you can’t tell, he’s picking the little flowers around him and giving them to his Mommy.
It turns out that taking a picture with anything resembling bokeh (blurred-out background) is nearly impossible with a cell phone camera, despite the fixed 2.8 aperture. I tried to use a photo editing app to add in some soft blur in the background, but the result didn’t look good. In the same way, any other modifications I tried just seemed to detract from the original photo.
In the end, this photo is completely untouched and is up exactly the way I snapped it with my cell phone.
See you tomorrow!
